Annandale

Located in Annandale, this project is a considered blend of heritage character and contemporary architectural design. The original home is carefully restored at the front, while a bold rear addition introduces a refined, modern setting creating a seamless transition between old and new.

Curved off-form concrete defines the extension, softening the structure and bringing a sculptural quality to the space. Large circular skylights cut into the concrete draw natural light deep into the home, enhancing volume, atmosphere, and connection to the outdoors.

The open-plan living area is grounded by polished concrete floors and framed by expansive Blackbutt sliding doors and windows, dissolving the boundary between inside and out. Fluted glass adds texture and privacy throughout the home, while timber flooring and joinery bring warmth and balance to the material palette.

The rooftop garden is conceived as a visual extension of the home, designed to be experienced from the upper level and the garden below. Layered planting softens the built form, with greenery cascading over the edges to create a living facade that enhances outlook, privacy, and connection to nature.

 This home reflects a commitment to design integrity, craftsmanship, and construction at the highest level.
